Welcome

Ghotonna, the word hails from the traditional way of offering food to our loved ones. In the old days when farmers in the villages would stay out of their homes ploughing the fields the whole day, their family would bring them cooked food in containers wrapped by a piece of cloth. This very food package is traditionally known as Ghotonna in Odia.

Who we are

Food is a fundamental human need that influences both physiological and emotional states. As such, the search for and consumption of food has shaped human behaviour. People feel strongly about their individual food preferences and the food culture they were raised in. Eating behaviour goes beyond nutrition and alleviating hunger. Family, friends, and cultural heritage shape individual food preferences. Food offering can be used to show affection to loved ones, to show hospitality to strangers, or to adhere to or express religious beliefs. Ghotonna brings all these aspects together into a single shelter so as to serve one of the basic needs of an individual.
